Marina
An important location for water sports enthusiasts
-independent of tides-
The Lower Elbe between the port of Hamburg and its estuary near Cuxhaven is ideal for both regatta and cruising sailing. Although around 50 regattas and even championships are held here every year, around 90% of all sailing families continue sailing into old age. Young people and children are trained on numerous club boats. Many motorboats also start their trips up and down the Elbe from here.
As the largest and most important facility of its kind, the Hamburg marina has the task of providing water sports enthusiasts with inexpensive moorings for pleasure craft as a charitable sports facility. In addition, the marina is an important port of call and destination for many foreign water sports enthusiasts every year. The marina with its approx. 80,000 m² of riparian forest is also a local recreation area for Wedel and the surrounding area of Hamburg.
